SCTE 104 is used for controlling digital program insertion at cable head-ends and internet streaming. It replaces DTMF tone signaling to trigger local commercial breaks. It is also used for digital rights management to block and replace program content that may not be viewed on the internet or on mobile devices.
The GTP-32 communicates over serial or Ethernet with SCTE inserters from the major manufacturers, to embed SCTE messages into video or program streams.
Use a GPI or button press to trigger program control/replace commands that allow Master Control, BOC, or NOC operators to quickly respond to events or override automation to trigger local commercial breaks or manage program replacement.
